Discover the rich history of the Lynde Point Lighthouse, an iconic maritime navigation aid established in 1838. Learn about its significance in guiding ships safely along the Connecticut coastline at the mouth of the Connecticut River. There are two lighthouses guarding the river's entrance. The outer lighthouse and the inner lighthouse. This grand majestic inner lighthouse was manned by my father as a Search & Rescue member of the United States Coast Guard. He and my mother met on Fisher's Island, married and lived in the lighthouse keepers quarters. as she has a deep rich family history in the area and New England. I lived here in the Lynde Point Lighthouse as a small child. And would visit often on family vacations.
